Join us at our mid-summer garden party at The Royal Brussels Cricket Club near Lasne-Ohain on 23 June
A ‘village green’ game of cricket will be playing in the background as the British community welcomes expats and locals to join them for a mid-summer celebration and charity fundraiser in Lasne-Ohain on Sunday 23 June.
The sixth edition of the bucolic garden party is organised by the Brussels British Community Association in the grounds of the Royal Brussels Cricket Club.
While the cricket thrills, or amuses the crowds, a feast of British-themed refreshments await. They include our popular Tim’s Pimm’s and mocktails bar, a BBQ (organised by Stonemanor), a tea stand with a generous spread of home-made cakes (thanks to St Paul’s church, Tervuren), as well as drinks available from the clubhouse cash bar.
Please note that this event is cash only.
This year, as a warm up to the summer Olympic games, adults are invited to join little ones in the various sporting pursuits. There will be traditional games such as an egg and spoon race, three-legged race and a tug of war for all ages.
As ever, the garden party’s popular raffle offers prizes by generous donors and raises much-needed cash for the BBCA’s local charities, CHS, BCF, the Brussels Branch of the Royal British Legion and The Wednesday Club.
Although entrance is free, prior registration is helpful for organisers to cater for the party. Volunteers are also welcome as are cake donations (please contact re both: hayesnicola6@gmail.com).
While some seating is provided, visitors are welcome to bring along their own folding chairs and picnic rugs. The weather forecast for Sunday looks promising and the fun starts at one - see you there!
