The BBCA will be holding an Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) on 7 November 2023 at the Umbrella Factory, Boulevard Leopold II 209, 1080 Brussels from 7:30pm. This meeting is for members only.
The purpose of this meeting is to vote on the approval of the changes to the Articles of Association of the Brussels British Communities Association.
In 2019, new Belgian Laws came into effect which necessitate changes to the BBCA Articles of Association which make mention of previous laws now defunct. The BBCA is required to update these changes before 31 December 2023 in the Moniteur Belge to avoid sanction.
In January 2023, the Committee formed a Task Force to make the Amendments to these Articles which were then sent to a consultant with expertise to confirm the legality of our Belgian ASBL’s Articles of Association and further amendments were included according to their recommendations. The Committee has approved the proposed changes and recommends to the Membership to vote in favour to adopt the new Articles of Association at this General Meeting.
A Microsoft Teams link will be provided for those members unable to to attend in person and in case any member who is unavailable, but wishes to be represented at the meeting, may request a proxy vote.
There will be an open Committee meeting after the EGM which all members present are welcome to attend.
