Qualification queries seminar

14 Feb 2024 9:29 AM | Tim Reynolds (Administrator)

New arrivals in Belgium (and many veteran residents) often find it difficult to get their existing qualifications officially recognised, which is a rather critical step if you are looking to apply for job or further education. To help, our friends at the Expat Welcome Desk are running a webinar in English to help international residents to navigate the process in both the French- and Dutch-speaking communities.

This free online event is happening on Thursday 22 February from 12h00 to 13h30. To take part you need to register before 19 February via email to: inscription@commissioner.brussels.

The webinar will outline the principles of diploma recognition in Belgium and how to apply for ‘equivalent’ qualifications. A variety of issues will be covered, including enrolment at Actiris (or VDAB) as a job-seeker, improving language skills, integration programmes, social orientation courses, individual coaching and activities such as volunteering.

The session will be chaired by Amélie Bouvy from the Expat Welcome Desk with speakers from the Brussels bureau of the Flemish integration agency Bon: Joris Eikenaar and Jane Zacharzewski.
